It's that time of the year again to get all the DUDES into our school to promote reading! If you have a DUDE at home that would like to come in and volunteer for our semi-annual "Dudes Do Read" event on November 2nd please send me an e-mail (mcdonnellv@duvalschools.org). I will forward all names to our assistant principal Mrs. Lampkin and she will then be sending more information your way in regards to the event.

Reminder....
Scholastic book orders are due no later than Friday 9-28-12. Remember that every book that's ordered give us points to get FREE books to add to our classroom library! Thank you for supporting your child's learning both at home as well in the classroom.
This week (9-24-12) in our classroom...
Just wanted to let you know a few things that will be going on in our classroom this week.
In reading we are starting on theme 2 of 10. The theme for the next 3 weeks is "Surprise!". This week we will be working on the following skills:
In math we are currently working on Counting and Quantity: Developing strategies for accurately counting a set of objects by ones. We are using whole number operations with the assistance of manipulative, drawing, tools and notation to show strategies and solutions.
Tuesday we have P.E.
On Wednesday @ 8:45 we have our school wide fundraiser "FUNRUN" on the track. Please come out to cheer our team on.
Friday we have Library...Please be sure to send in your child's book on Thursday so I can get them returned and check back in before they go to the library to check out a new book on Friday.
